Band Midlothian Marching Showcase

HIGHLANDER BAND MIDLOTHIAN MARCHING SHOWCASE MIDLOTHIAN, TEXAS SATURDAY- OCTOBER 5, 2019 10:50 AM-11:50 AM Rehearsal/run-through. Wear your marching shoes and comfortable clothing for this rehearsal. Please eat a healthy, substantial breakfast before you arrive. 11:50 AM-1:00 PM- Load truck. AWAY GAME MEALS SERVED AT 11:00 AM; YOU CAN EITHER TAKE THESE WITH YOU OR QUICKLY EAT THEM THEN. 1:15 PM Inspection (wind and percussion students should be wearing: black marching shoes and long black socks, your white compression shirt with undershirt or sports bra underneath, and your overalls. You should also have your Highlander Band water bottle. Females should have their hair in a bun, and males must have their hair neatly groomed and have no facial hair. (Guard students will receive inspection info from Mr. Martinez) 1:30 PM- Depart for Midlothian Multi-purpose Stadium- US-287 & S 14th St -- Midlothian, Texas 76065 2:15 PM- Arrive Midlothian (begin unloading, prop assembly) 3:45 PM- Official Warm-Up time begins 4:30 PM- Prelims performance 5:15 PM- Preliminary Awards Ceremony, announcement of finalists 6:00 PM- Catered dinner on the contest site. This is paid for by HBB. Note: The Midlothian Marching Showcase is a Prelims/Finals format. The top 10 scoring bands from prelims will advance to Finals competition, which begins that night at 7:00 PM. We will not know if we have advanced to Finals until the 5:15 PM Awards Ceremony. If we do advance to Finals, we will return to HPHS around 11:30 PM-midnight. If we do not advance, we will return between 6:00 PM-6:30 PM. Parents, if you're not able to attend, we will be providing updates on our outcome and possible finals schedule via Twitter- @highlander_band. You'll then receive any tweet updates we send via text message. Admission Admission is $10 and covers prelims and finals, while the senior citizen ticket is $5; children 3 and under are free. Cash and credit card accepted. Souvenirs The contest will have kiosks selling t-shirts and other items. Bring money for this if interested. Concessions A full concession stand is available throughout the contest. Video Due to copyright rules, the contest will not be professionally recorded and spectators should not record from the stands.
